The next FIRSTfriday of Falls Church event is June 1, 2012!

 

 Come to FIRSTfriday of Falls Church and join in on the fun with dinning specials and retail discounts.  This month highlights include Call It the Blues exhibit showcasing the works of various area artists and artist Linda Vroegindewey.  ArtALot with Cruise-In Friday, musical performance by Tom Nichols and Holly Montgomery with special guest Helen Hausmann, and art exhibits featuring various painters, jewelers, businesses, and other artists.  Free ice cream, ARTful event, tastings, yoga, dance moves, and more.  Irish Balladeer at Ireland's Four Provinces and additional musical performances at Dogwood Tavern, and Clare and Don's Beach Shack.

 

Below is a complete list of what will be happening at each location on the first Friday of the month, June 1st.  Don't forget to dine, shop, and visit each throughout the month!

  • Art exhibit titled Call It the Blues, as part of the Tinner Hill Blues Festival, the Tinner Hill Heritage Foundation is hosting this juried all-media exhibition focusing on the meaning of the “blues” from an artist’s or visual perspective.  Works of art explore the nature of blues music, poetry, literature, or history; interpreting or reflecting the emotions and events inspiring or evoked by the “blues”; focus on blues performers; or the work exploring the “hue of blue”.  Artists talk at 7:10.
  • Decorative art demonstration by The Academy of Wall Artistry, Victoria Bingham at 7:20.
  • FREE ice cream provided by Lazy Sundae.
