Charlotte Skiles talks about herbs

Herbs are the “medicine of the people” and have been used for thousands of years as a form of health care. Herbs, which support the healthy structure and function of the body, nudge us toward wellness, nurturing the body’s innate healing capacity by activating the life force within each one of us. Herbs can help the body find ease in challenging times by improving the body’s adaptability to life’s demands. Herbs are for people, not diseases, and work best when they are chosen by a trained practitioner based on your unique constitution. Herbs can improve your quality of life and are for anyone and everyone! I began studying massage and nutrition in 2002 as a way to find answers to my health concerns.

Herbs are for people, not diseases

Realizing what a significant difference diet and lifestyle changes made in the quality of my life, I decided that I wanted to spread the word by inspiring and educating people on how to take better care of their bodies. I graduated from the Nutrition Consultant program at Bauman College in Santa Cruz, California, and shortly thereafter moved to the DC area where I discovered the Masters of Science in Herbal Medicine at the Tai Sophia Institute – a rigorous, one of a kind program designed to incorporate the traditional use of herbs with modern science.

I am currently employed by the Regency Sport & Health Club in McLean, VA, as a nutrition consultant and lecture often in my community about the value of a whole foods diet. I would be honored if you would play a role in my education by making an appointment with me to discover what role herbs and whole foods may play in your life. During our time together we will explore your health concerns and discuss the many health-enhancing options that are available to you. We will take into account your health history, diet, and lifestyle in order to set goals tailored to meet your specific needs. Ultimately, a consultation is a time to honor your life experience while offering a unique opportunity to learn about your body and how to increase your sense of well-being.

Consultations take place in the faculty-supervised clinic located at the:
Tai Sophia Institute
7750 Montpelier Road
Laurel, MD 20723
www.tai.edu
Initial consultation: 2 hours, $50
Follow-ups: 1 hour, $35

The cost of herbs is not included in the consultation fee. You are more than welcome to purchase recommended herbs and/or supplements at the Tai Sophia Herb Room, or elsewhere. Payments should be made to Charlotte Skiles in the form of a personal check or cash. Credit cards cannot be accepted.
