May 7th FIRSTfriday ArtALot Cruise-In Friday will be held the first Friday of the month from May to October in Falls Church, VA at 111 Park Avenue from 5-8pm.  It's FUN!  It's FREE!  It's FIRSTfriday!  No entry fee.  Dash plaques and T-Shirts for the first 45 that show.  Door prizes too!  Trophy for Top finisher.  50/50 with proceeds going to FISHER HOUSE Foundation - helping military families.  Artists, craftsmen, musical performance by Guava, and much, much more.  For more information call 703-534-4202 or go to www.firstfridayoffallschurch.com.
 

ArtALot

Open to all artsits, craftsmen, musicians, first come first serve.

Every first Friday from May to October for 2010.  Up to 40 tent/spaces available.

Deadline is one and a half months before the FIRSTfriday event.

One season is $25 per month ($150), paid in advanced or $35 month to month basis.

ArtALot will be held in the event of rain. In case of severe weather, including lightning and strong winds, ArtALot will be canceled for that month.

Each First Friday of the month

May 7, June 4, July 2, August 6, September 3, & October 1, 2010
 
Eligibility
Artists must be 18 years of age or older.  All fine craft and art media are accepted including, but not limited to: clay, fiber, furniture, glass, jewelry, leather, metal, paper, wood, original painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, fiber art, clothing, accessories and mixed media works. Work for each event must be original and executed by the accepted artist vendor. Mass-produced, commercially produced items are not eligible. Only limited edition prints from one source, handpulled, signed and numbered by the artist, will be permitted.
 
Exhibit Space
Each exhibitor will be assigned a 10' x 10' space. Each artist is responsible for providing their own tent, tables, chairs and displays. Requests for double spaces will be considered and are subject to availability. Accepted exhibitors who sign up for the 2010 season will be eligible for assigned spaces, which will remain the same throughout the season.
 
Fees
$35 per space per market / $25 per space per market if the artist commits to the 2010 season of 6 event days ($150).
 
Exhibitor Responsibilities
Exhibitor is responsible for delivery, handling, set-up and removal of his or her own display and materials. Each artist vendor must provide his or her own freestanding, 10' x 10' canopy, which must be anchored with appropriate weights (the lot can get windy!). The market will be held in the event of rain. In case of severe weather, including lightning and strong winds, the market will be canceled.  No electricity is provided. No banners other than your name may be displayed without prior ArtALot approval. The registered exhibitor must be present during the event. Exhibits must be completely set up by 4:00 pm and remain intact during the entire duration of the ArtALot event (5pm - 8pm), and completely broken down by 9pm.
 
Submission & Acceptance
Submissions will be accepted via email and regular mail. The deadline for the first round of jurying is March 31, 2010. After the initial deadline, artists may be admitted on a rolling, space-available basis. Upon acceptance artists will receive full details of market participation, a release of liability form that must be signed, and market fees will be due.
 
Jury
The ArtALot Review Panel is made up of a rotating panel of area arts
professionals.

 1) 5 images -images should be submitted in JPEG format and be sent via email to artalot@denisesart.com.  Alternatively, a website address will be accepted if the website has images of the work that is illustrative of the items to be displayed at ArtALot.
 
2) a representative image list with description and price of each work
3) a brief artist statement or resume email entries to: artalot@denisesart.com
